While she is still in the concept stage, the Dominator 36M Ilumen is another trideck from Dominator Yachts’ Italian shipyard. This brings the brand’s offerings to five models, each of which is available for full personalization.
In keeping with the idea defining the series name, the 118-foot 36M Ilumen is focused on giving owners a bright interior ambiance. Therefore, you’ll find not just full-height glass on the main deck, but also a skylight in the main-deck master. In addition, lacquered surfaces help to play up the light. In particular, Dominator’s head of interior design, Luca Catino, suggests a reflective wall forward in the saloon and dining area (above). He further incorporates natural woods for soles and for accents. Catino believes in bringing in tones of blues and greens, too, to remind you of the sea.
Of course, this doesn’t mean that the Dominator 36M Ilumen lacks excitement. Catino creates a sense of drama in an alternate saloon design (below), via contrasting light and dark surfaces. And, artwork that you choose for areas like the dining room and staterooms lend even more personality. Below decks, you can enjoy a beach club completely dedicated to lounging. Alternately, incorporate a gym in here. Regardless, Dominator constructs the 36M Ilumen with a multi-function beach platform. Part of it raises to become a diving board, while part also lowers for swimmers’ or toy-launching convenience. Finally, the privately accessed bow has a hot tub.
There’s personality in abundance in another project currently in build, the 38M Tri Deck Ilumen. The owners, repeat customers, have requested triangular themes for each stateroom. Interestingly, they have additionally asked to lengthen the yacht, to become a 40M Tri Deck, or 131 feet. Added in the central part of the hull, this allows for more fuel and perhaps more stateroom space. (The shipyard is finalizing the design with the clients.)
In related news, due to the company’s growth, Dominator is seeking new facilities. “Our current shipyard is limited in height and not directly next to the water,” explains Angela Pernsteiner, the CEO. That shipyard is in Fano, Italy. The company, celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, has narrowed down the search to three alternate facilities.
